Di Cosmo started his caree in the lower levels of Italian football, with A.C.S.D. Saluzzo. After an impressive season with the club, scoring 6 goals in 15 appearances, he was purchased by Sicilian outfit F.C. Igea Virtus Barcellona, a Serie C2 club. He spent the 2007–08 season at the club and he would go on to score an impressive 16 goals in 31 starts, winning the Serie C2/C top scorer that season. His performances were often eye catching, thus impressing Calcio Catania's sports director Pietro Lo Monaco. Since the beginning of 2010 is playing in the Bolivian team The Strongest.
Di Cosmo transferred to Calcio Catania in July 2008, but before the end of the 2008-2009 summer transfer window, Lo Monaco loaned out Di Cosmo to Lega Pro Prima Divisione side Paganese Calcio 1926. During the first half of the Lega Pro Prima Divisione season Di Cosmo greatly impressed scoring 3 goals in 16 league appearances. In January 2009 he returned to the Italian fourth tier, joining Lega Pro Seconda Divisione club Andria. Di Cosmo managed another 9 goals in 18 appearances for the Italian side. In July 2009 Di Cosmo returned to Calcio Catania, but on August 31 he was permanently sold to Tuscan Lega Pro Seconda Divisione outfit Colligiana, not making a single appearance for the rossazzurri.[3]
Since his transfer to V.F. Colligiana, the striker has formed a strong offensive partnership with former Catania teammate Christian Ianelli, and has found the back of the net 9 times in 22 league appearances.
